IntroductionWelcome to Rolling Hills Middle School Physical Education with Mr. Linda. It is my goal that every student receives the same opportunity to have a successful learning experience. As an active member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association, the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and conducting research for the completion of my Master's of Science in Secondary Education I believe I have a responsibility to my students and my professional integrity to maintain current knowledge in the areas of physical literacy, physical education, Kinesiology and current educational trends. The science of Physical Education is applied through the art of teaching, and I believe that "fun is a byproduct of learning, not a purpose for learning" (Fredericks, 2010, p.156). I will stress active listening skills during each and every minute of instruction; active listening incorporates hearing, feeling, and seeing instruction to maintain respectful behavior. I realize that middle school can be a difficult time for students; seeking their individual identity and the rigors of academic life. During class off-task behavior will not be tolerated, classes are excessively large and can be challenging for students to function in a cooperative manner. I will strive to provide each student with a positive learning experience. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions. |
